On September 3, 2025, at approximately 4:30 p.m., a group of four hooded suspects executed a brazen smash-and-grab robbery at Kristof’s Classic Jewelers, located inside the Westfield Fashion Square mall at 14006 Riverside Drive, Sherman Oaks, in the 14000 block between Hazeltine and Woodman avenues. The suspects entered the store armed with large hammers, which they used to shatter multiple glass display cases, causing loud crashing sounds that startled nearby shoppers and prompted them to flee for safety. The group quickly gathered an undetermined amount of high-value jewelry from the broken cases before fleeing the scene. They escaped in a dark-colored sedan, which was later located by Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) officers in Van Nuys, approximately four miles from the mall. No injuries were reported during the incident, and no firearms or additional weapons beyond the hammers were mentioned in reports. Video footage captured by witnesses showed the aftermath, revealing extensive damage to the store’s display cases, with shattered glass scattered across the floor. The jewelry store was temporarily closed to customers as LAPD officers processed the scene and collected evidence. As of September 4, 2025, no arrests have been made, and the exact value of the stolen jewelry remains undisclosed. The LAPD Van Nuys Division is actively investigating and urges anyone with information to contact them at 818-374-9500. This robbery aligns with a pattern of smash-and-grab incidents targeting high-end retail in Los Angeles, raising concerns among local business owners and shoppers.
