Just before midnight on September 4, 2025, the Westlake District of Los Angeles was rattled by a brazen armed robbery at a convenience store near Alvarado Street and 7th Street. According to NBC Los Angeles, two masked suspects stormed the shop around 11:45 p.m., brandishing handguns and demanding cash from the terrified clerk.

The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) reports that the robbers made off with an undisclosed amount of money and several packs of cigarettes before fleeing on foot. No injuries were reported, but the incident left the store employee and nearby residents shaken. “It happened so fast,” a witness told NBC. “This area’s usually busy, but you don’t expect guns.”

LAPD officers swarmed the scene, setting up a perimeter and scouring the area for surveillance footage. The suspects, described only as males in dark clothing, remain at large, and the investigation is ongoing. The Westlake District, known for its bustling streets and diverse community, is now grappling with heightened fear as this breaking crime adds to a wave of incidents across Los Angeles in the past 24 hours.

Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact the LAPD’s Rampart Division. As the city reels from shootings, chases, and now this robbery, the call for vigilance grows louder.
